Motion indexing and synthesis

چکیده
In this study, we propose a simple and effective approach to synthesize new motions from a given sequence of continuous motion capture data. First an index function, based on posture features of each motion frame, is introduced to segment the given motion capture data into indexed motion clips. Then based on the fact that motion coherence implies index coherence, a new motion with start frame fstart and end frame fend can be synthesized by finding a smooth path connecting fstart to fend in the multidimensional index space. Moreover, an algorithm for finding smooth paths is presented and a relevance feedback mechanism is provided to refine the results. The merit of proposed framework is that it can generate fast prototyping of desired motions with only a small amount of preprocessing time. Experimental results are given to shown the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

متن کاملA Combined Semantic and Motion Capture Database for Real-Time Sign Language Synthesis
Over the past decade, many fields of discovery have begun to use motion capture data, leading to an exponential growth in the size of motion databases. Querying, indexing and retrieving motion capture data has thus become a crucial problem for the accessibility and usability of such databases. Our aim is to make this approach feasible for virtual agents signing in French Sign Language, taking i...

This paper addresses the problem of synthesizing in real time the motion of realistic virtual characters with a physics-based model from the analysis of human motion data. The synthesis is achieved by computing the motion equations of a dynamical model controlled by a sensory motor feedback loop with a non-parametric learning approach. The analysis is directly applied on end-effector trajectori...
متن کاملRepresentation of motion activity in hierarchical levels for video indexing and filtering
A method for video indexing and filtering based on motion activity characteristics in hierarchical levels is proposed. To extract motion activity information, an MPEG (MPEG-1/2) video is first adaptively segmented into hierarchical levels with fixed percentage of original video length based on P-frame macroblock motion information. Three motion activity characteristics-motion intensity which re...
متن کاملA Novel Indexing Approach for Efficient and Fast Similarity Search of Captured Motions
Indexing of motion data is important for quickly searching similar motions for sign language recognition and gait analysis and rehabilitation. This paper proposes a simple and efficient tree structure for indexing motion data with dozens of attributes. Feature vectors are extracted for indexing by using singular value decomposition (SVD) properties of motion data matrices. By having similar mot...
